With over
175 Wysong Systems installed today Wysong has established themselves as an
industry leader in Electronic News Gathering Systems (E.N.G.)
worldwide and have been pioneers from it’s inception over 20 years ago. Wysong Enterprises has completed more
Electronic News Gathering helicopter installations than any other company
ranging from Denver CO,
Los Angeles CA, New York NY, Tampa FL, Norfolk VA, San Antonio TX to Puerto Rico and many others as well. We constantly use
our cutting edge technology to make the most advanced Data Gathering Equipment
from around the world available for your helicopter’s use. From concept to completion, Wysong specializes in Airborne News Gathering Systems for any make or model of aircraft in the air. Wysong also specializes in the design, manufacturing, installation, and service of quality state of the art Electronic News Gathering Systems.
Wysong Enterprises performs upgrades, custom system design and implementation of new
technologies such as COFDM Modulation for microwave, and CC1R601 (SDI) for
Onboard Digital Video. Wysong also integrated the very first E.N.G. COFDM
System in May of 2000. Our technicians
are experts in installations of camera gimbals, switchers, monitors, microwave
links and support equipment. The latest systems
we provide are now incorporating High Definition microwave and video. Wysong
Enterprises was the first completion center to design and install a High
Definition system on a rotorcraft in March of 2004. These systems provide the viewer with a high
resolution picture of superior, unsurpassed quality and are the latest
technologies to be utilized in the airborne Electronic News Gathering (E.N.G.)
industry today. We also introduce the MuteMaster which eliminates delays when reporting live and listening to your own audio on air. Whatever your requirements may be, Wysong can design an Electronic News Gathering System to meet your specific needs.
A Wysong Enterprises Electronic News Gathering System typically utilizes the following Equipment:
- Externally mounted, gyro-stabilized camera ball, normally mounted on the nose and housing an 1120mm zoom camera.
- Airborne microwave system, including analog, COFDM, and/or HD microwave transmitter and receiver (allowing “bounce shots”), utilizing an antenna pod system with a high-gain antenna as well as an omni and down look antenna. The high-gain antenna is 360 degrees maneuverable and uses a GPS receiver for automatic tracking.
- Video interfacing equipment, which consists of multiple camera and monitoring capabilities. All camera outputs are able to be individually selected for preview or live transmission. The video system is synchronized for clean switching and features remote selection- allowing even the pilot to select a video source. The equipment package also includes television receivers to monitor the actual broadcast signal, plus a broadcast quality videotape recorder to record or playback audio & video.
- Audio interfacing equipment-a sophisticated package which interconnects the helicopter avionics package with the Electronic News Gathering System. This permits the crew to report over the microwave link, communicate over FM radio and use the intercom system and the avionics.
