Two Bell Helicopter 407GX’s to PHI Air Medical

Wysong Enterprises, Inc. has delivered two Bell Helicopter 407GX’s to PHI Air Medical. These are the first two 407GX EMS aircraft in PHI’s extensive fleet across the United States. PHI is one of the world’s largest helicopter operators with approximately 260 aircraft in their fleet.

“We have worked on numerous aircraft for PHI Air Medical over the past five years,” said Paul Schreuder, Sales Manager. “In the past seven years we have completed more than 30 new Bell 407s for our various EMS customers.”

The Wysong customization included exterior painting, avionics, Life Port EMS interior, and airframe modifications. Some of the equipment that Wysong installed included a HeliSAS autopilot, Free Flight RA 4500 radar altimeter, and ASU Night Vision Goggle cockpit modification. Wysong also added a Donaldson inlet barrier filter, Air Comm air conditioner and heater, custom exterior LED scene and safety lighting in addition to other modifications.

Wysong will be displaying one of the completed PHI aircraft in booth #7503 at this year’s HAI Heli-Expo 2017, March 7-9, Dallas, TX.

In honor of their 25th anniversary in business, Tennessee based Wysong Enterprises, Inc. has unveiled a new trade show display at the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) annual Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) in Nashville, Tenn. Wysong is showcasing one of the new Airbus EC130 aircraft from fellow Tennessee based Hospital Wing, an air ambulance company. Wysong is located in Northeast Tennessee, in Blountville, and Hospital Wing is based in Memphis, Tennessee.

“We wanted to do something very special for our 25th anniversary in business at AMTC in our home state,” said vice president of Wysong Enterprises, Inc., Rodney Wysong. “Having Hospital Wing’s aircraft in our booth with our new booth display truly highlights the strength of aviation in Tennessee. We wanted to showcase our EMS work at this show and utilize a well-known Tennessee EMS operation.”

Wysong has modified numerous AS350 aircraft for Hospital Wing and has completed two new EC130s. The aircraft at AMTC is equipped with a full medical interior and several avionics and safety modifications. Some of those modifications include HeliSAS 2 Axis Auto Pilot, Garmin G500H EFIS System, an Aviation Specialties Unlimited, Night Vision Modification, Avidyne Traffic Advisory System, and a KRA-405B radar altimeter. Wysong also performed modifications to the airframe including dual search lights, LED scene and landing lights, Eurocopter hinged door mod and a Donaldson engine inlet filter. Wysong custom painted the aircraft to match Hospital Wing’s corporate color scheme.

“Wysong has done a great job equipping, modifying and completing our aircraft, ” said Hospital Wing director of maintenance Glen “Buddy” Wilson. “The quality of their work is outstanding and we look forward to continuing to do work with them in the future. We are honored to showcase our aircraft that they worked on at AMTC this year, so everyone can see their quality work and to also celebrate their anniversary in our home state of Tennessee.”

Wysong Enterprises, Inc. has delivered a Bell Helicopter 407GX to Med-Trans Corp. prior to the Air Medical Transport Conference. This is the first 407GX in Med-Trans’ extensive fleet across the United States. Med-Trans is one of the world’s largest operators of Bell 407s with approximately 40 in their fleet.
“We have worked on numerous aircraft for Med-Trans in the past five years,” said Rodney Wysong, vice president. “This is the first of three 407GX aircraft that we will be completing for Med-Trans by the end of 2014. In the past five years we have completed more than 20 new Bell 407s for various EMS operators.”
The work by Wysong included customized exterior painting, avionics, EMS interior, and airframe modifications. The addition of these aircraft will bring our fleet total to 68 aircraft across 57 programs in the United States. Wysong completes 5th EMS Bell 407 for the year; Signs for 5 more completions

Wysong Enterprises (Wysong) announced today from the Air Medical Transport Conference in Seattle that they have completed their 5th EMS Equipped Bell 407 this year and signed contracts for four more 407 aircraft completions this week.  In addition to the 407s, Wysong also will begin work on another EMS Eurocopter AS-350 in January.

The aircraft Wysong modified had various avionics packages including Garmin G-500H EFIS, Technisonics TDFM Multi-Band FM Transceiver, Garmin GNS-530W and GNS-430W GPS/NAV/COMs, TRA -3000 Radar Altimeter, Sky Trac flight following system, Garmin GTX-330 Mode S Transponder, GDL-69 XM Weather, and other associated avionics equipment.  Several airframe modifications were also completed including an Air Comm dual evap air-conditioning system, Air Comm heater, AFS inlet barrier filter, door openers, snow baffles, and the installation of a lead acid battery.

Wysong also installed wire strike protection systems; custom exterior scene response lighting, as well as NVG compatible lighting systems to allow NVG goggle operations. The list of avionics safety equipment included Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System (HTAWS) and Helicopter Synthetic Vision Technology (HSVT). Both of these systems are integrated onto the Garmin G500H EFIS displays.

The EMS Interior Systems installed by Wysong include Life Port provided kits such as a litter system, pilot barrier system, floor barrier tub, along with numerous Wysong custom designed accessories.  This year Wysong has completed EMS helicopters for numerous EMS operators. Wysong is exhibiting at AMTC booth number 1514.

Wysong Completes Special Mission Aids Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department with DNC Protection

The Democratic National Convention may be over, but the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department will continue to experience the effects of it being held in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Wysong Enterprises, Inc., (Wysong) was tasked with providing essential modifications and installations to their fleet of Bell 407 Helicopters for protection during the convention.

“We have performed many installations and modifications since our company began,” said Vice President of Wysong Enterprises, Inc., Rodney Wysong.   “It brings us a lot of satisfaction to be entrusted with high profile projects that equip such sensitive missions.  It is not every day that your work is directly linked with protecting the President of the United States.  Yet each customer’s aircraft is important to us and given the same quality and care.  We pride ourselves on every aircraft that leaves our hangar, no matter what the mission is. ”

Wysong completed numerous avionics upgrades.    They installed an expanded instrument panel with a Garmin G500H EFIS with Helicopter Synthetic Vision Technology, (HSVT).  The HSVT provides a clear depiction of the terrain in 3D.  The company also installed a Garmin GNS 530W WAAS GPS / NAV / COM with cyclic switching, Garmin SL 40 COM, Garmin GTX 330 ES mode S Transponder with Traffic Information Services (TIS) interfaced to the G500H display, Garmin GDL 69 Weather displayed on the G500H and digitally controlled Becker DVCS audio system with three control panels.

In addition to the avionics upgrades mission equipment improvements included, AeroComputers UC5100 Moving Map System, Troll Skylink LC5 Microwave Pod, Technisonic TDFM-7300 Multiband FM Transceiver, Avalex AVM-4102 TFO Monitor, Spectrolab SX-16 Nightsun slaved to thermal imaging system and Night Vision Modification (NVG).

“The Bell 407s we completed will serve the community and region surrounding Charlotte, North Carolina for many years.  We are very proud of that. The 407s now have some of the most proven and reliable instruments and accessories in the law enforcement business for helicopters, ” said Rodney Wysong.

This 1986 Bell LongRanger is used for corporate transportation in the midwestern US. It is one of many extensive refurbishment projects that Wysong has performed on existing airframes. A brief overview of the process is as follows:

Wysong Enterprises, Inc. Delivers Third Refurbished MD500 to AIR2

Wysong Enterprises, Inc., (Wysong) announced today that they delivered the third of four refurbished MD500D helicopters to AIR2, LLC (AIR2). The refurbishment work included rewiring the entire airframe, installation of a new avionics package, sheet metal repairs including panel replacement, window replacement, and custom painting of the interior and exterior of the aircraft.

“This is the second set of aircraft we have worked on for Air2,” said Vice President of Wysong Enterprises, Inc., Rodney Wysong.   “We appreciate AIR2 giving us the opportunity to equip their helicopters.”

AIR 2, LLC is a national, helicopter assisted power transmission line contractor. AIR2 airborne crews deliver customer focused power line services utilizing the MD500 helicopter to maximize productivity while virtually eliminating costly and bothersome right-of-way issues. AIR2 management brings together over 100 years of combined working experience in providing premier construction, maintenance and inspection services to North American utility companies.

Jonathon Sole is the Vice President of Operations for AIR2.  “Wysong did an exceptional job on the first completion project we gave them,” said Sole.  “The quality of their work, knowledge of employees about the system, and craftsmanship is top notch. They deliver on time and on budget.”

Wysong’s ability to perform the entire repair and overhaul work under one roof also was a factor for Air2’s decisions. “Because Wysong can have everything inside and out repaired at one location it helps reduce downtime for our fleet,” added Sole.

“Our goal beyond servicing the needs of our clients is to maximize their resources.  By completely rewiring the aircraft, installing new equipment and other upgrades, we extend the life of an aircraft for our customers.  This equates to less down time, improved efficiency, and a reliable aircraft that our customers can depend on,” said Wysong.

Wysong anticipates delivering the fourth MD500D to AIR2 by the end of February 2012.

Wysong Delivers New Bell 407 to Air Evac

Wysong Enterprises, Inc. Delivers New  Bell 407 Helicopter Completion to Air Evac Lifeteam

Wysong Enterprises, Inc., (Wysong) announced today from the Air Medical Transport Conference that they delivered a new Bell 407 EMS Helicopter to Missouri based Air Evac EMS, Inc., (Air Evac Lifeteam) the largest independently owned and operated air medical service provider in the United States.  Air Evac Lifeteam operates more than 110 Bell 206 Long Ranger aircrafts in their fleet and a handful of Bell 407s.   This is the first new Bell 407 in their fleet.  The completion work included a custom paint scheme, complete avionics system, airframe kits, and numerous safety systems as well as a complete emergency medical interior.
“We have customized four aircraft for Air Evac Lifeteam over the last year,” said Vice President of Wysong Enterprises, Inc., Rodney Wysong.   “This is the first new aircraft we have completed for them.  Our team worked tirelessly to complete the aircraft in approximately 60-calendar days instead of the typical 90.  The quicker we get aircraft back to our customers the sooner it is back in operations adding to our customer’s bottom line. We strive to provide the best services, options, and rapid turn times.”
Air Evac Lifeteam is the largest independently owned and operated air medical company in the United States, operating 104 bases in 15 states. Air Evac Lifeteam President Seth Myers said the company is pleased with the quality work completed by Wysong Enterprises.
“The completion of this Bell 407, along with other Bell 407s we plan to add in the future, will aid our company as we work to provide increased access to health care to other rural communities in need,” said Myers. “We look forward to our continued partnership with Wysong Enterprises as we continue our mission.”
The aircraft has an extensive avionics package including a Honeywell KCS-55A Gyro Compass System, Technisonic TDFM 7000 Multi-Band FM Transceiver, Garmin GNS-430AW GPS/NAV/COM, TRA-3000 Radar Altimeter, Sky Trac flight following system, Becker 6402 Mode S Transponder, and other associated avionics equipment.  Several airframe modifications were also completed including an Air Comm dual evap air-conditioning system, Air Comm heater, AAI Nightscanner, door openers, snow baffles, and the installation of a lead acid battery.
The Safety equipment included in the configuration is a wire strike protection system; custom exterior scene response lighting, as well as NVG compatible lighting systems to allow NVG goggle operations.  The EMS Interior System installed by Wysong included Life Port provided kits such as a litter system, pilot barrier system, floor barrier tub, along with numerous Wysong custom designed accessories.
Wysong has completed approximately 30 EMS 407s for various customers throughout the world.
